What are the differences between "Season Pages", "Static Pages" and "Custom Pages"?
"Season Pages" are pages on your web site that change whenever you create a new
season or switch between seasons. These are pages such as your roster, schedule and others that generally
change with a new lacrosse season.
"Static Pages" refer to pages that do not change when you create a new season. These pages' content will
remain the same no matter what season you switch to.
"Custom Pages" are pages of your own creation. You can create any
pages that you feel we missed, or add features that are not yet implemented. If you feel your page
is something more teams would want, please send us a suggestion. You can create as many custom
pages as you wish, but remember that the more you make, the more cluttered your navigation menu
will become. Custom pages are static as well.
How do I add links to my custom pages or other pages on my site?
You can insert simple HTML, such as links, tables, and lists into your pages by copying it from your favorite
Text or HTML editor into the text areas in the admin panel.
Why do the drop down lists disapper when I move my mouse over the menu?
It is because of a bug in Internet Explorer. Internet Explorer presents drop-down menus as
the top-most element on web pages - i.e. they are always displayed on top of any other items
on a web page. If we did not hide them, they would show through the menus and you would not
be able to navigate through the control panel. When you move your mouse away from the menu,
the drop-down menus should return. If not, please contact support. Also, we recommend that you get
a browser such as Firefox (See above) as it is more secure and
renders web pages according to a stricter standard.
How do I insert an image into my web pages?
To add a picture to your pages outside of the photo gallery, the picture first needs to be online
(either on another website or uploaded to yours in the 'Files' Section). To upload a new picture
so that it's not in the photo gallery, log in, go to 'Options' -> ' Files' and click on 'Upload New
Files or Manage Current Files'. From there, click 'Browse' and browse for whatever image you would
like to upload. After you've opened an image, click 'Begin Upload'. After the upload is complete,
you can view the image's URL by clicking 'View Uploaded Files' Copy that URL (including the http://
part). When you are editing the news or other section of the site, just click on the image button
(it's in the second row of buttons on the text editor in between an anchor and a broom, there's a
picture of a tree in it) and in the Image URL field, paste the URL and then click Insert (You should
also type in a short image description and title, but it isn't mandatory. You may get a warning
about accessibility for the blind if you don't include them). The image should then be inserted into
the editor. You can resize the image by clicking on it once and moving the mouse to one of the boxes
at the corners or the the edges of the image and then clicking and dragging to your desired size.
You can also specify the size by clicking on the image then clicking on the image button, then
clicking on the 'Appearance' tab and setting the dimensions. A maximum width of 400px is recommended
so the image isn't larger than your page.
How do I upload a form or document for people to download?
To upload a file for users to download, simply log in to the administration program and go to 'Options' -> 'Files'.
Next, click on 'Upload New Files or Manage Current Files'. If you wish to upload more than one file at a time,
select the number of files you wish to upload and click 'Apply'. Now, next to each 'File', click Browse and find
the document or file you wish to upload and when you are ready, click 'Begin Upload'. When the upload is finished,
click 'View Uploaded Files'. You should then see the location of the files you just uploaded. Next, copy the
location of the file you wish to display to users (copy http:// until the dash and the actual link to the file, it
will look something like http://mysite.ialax.com/upload/filename ).
Next, go to the page you wish to display the file on. In the text editor for that page, type in something like
'Download Form Here' or something to describe your file, select that text, and click on the Link button (it looks
like a chain-link in the middle row of buttons), enter the location of the file you copied above
(including the http://) into the field that says 'Link URL' and click 'Insert'.
This should insert a link to the registration form. Finally, save the page, and check your website to see if
you can see and download the file.
