What exactly is ialax?
Due to the volatile nature of lacrosse administration (post-collegiate players moving around, collegiate officers graduating, little support from high school administrations), ialax was started to provide the lacrosse world with cheap, permanent, and easy to administer individual team websites. Whether you are a youth program, a masters club team, or are even a varsity program, if you are looking for a cheap, professional team website solution, we feel that you've come to the right place.
ialax provides teams with a web address of their choice (i.e. www.myschoollacrosse.com) which will link to their site here at ialax. You will no longer have to sort through multiple levels of a University's recreation site or long addresses of other popular design sites.
Instead of wasting valuable time creating and maintaining your team's website, ialax provides you with an easy to use administration program that allows your website to grow with your team and includes almost every feature available to Division 1 varsity team. We create the structure, you provide the content. You don't need to know any web related design language or how to write html. All you need to know is how to use your mouse and your keyboard.
Did I See Something About US Lacrosse Chapters?
Yes you did. We now support US Lacrosse Chapters, providing a familiar look and feel for any US Lacrosse Chapter at an amazing price. We provide you with a platform to organize, maintain and promote your chapter through a multitude of pages to archive info about your Chapter. To see what's included with your Chapter website, please check out the Demo Chapter of US Lacrosse on the Demo page or see what's included on the Sign Up page.
What Team Levels Are Supported?
We support every team level in existence. We can tailor a site to the needs of a youth team all the way to a grand masters level team. We have the capabilities to host High School and College varsity teams, club teams, Post Collegiate teams and Youth teams; basically we can support any level of team you can imagine. Even if you can imagine one that we are not able to support, we will work to quickly to get that support added at no extra cost.
How Does This Work? Who Updates My Site?
We start off by creating a site for you with all of the features listed on the signup page. Once we create the site, we will provide you with a username and password which you will use to log in to our administration program. From there, you will be able to create news stories, edit your roster, add games, write game reports, update statistics, upload photos and files, and do much more. You will be in full control of your site, from the content to the colors and graphics - you will not have to go through us to keep your site updated. In face, we will only get involved with your site if you ask us to or if there are any software problems.
Aren't there other sites like this one?
True, there are other team websites, but ialax is specifically tailored towards lacrosse, and isn't riddled with tons of ads or popups (we just have a few ads on the sides to help pay for our operating costs).
As well, we feel like we're providing you with a better deal. Right now, at eTeamz, if you go with their 'most options' plan you get a miserly 30 Megabytes of space! That's approximately 25 pictures using a 5 megapixel camera. Here at ialax, you get 1 Gigabyte of space. True, it might cost a little more, but you're getting so much more back, such as complete statistics reporting, RSS news feeds, photo galleries, an online store, message boards, etc. As well, a portion of our proceeds from advertising goes back into the lacrosse community in the form of donations to various organizations such as US Lacrosse.
Design Professionalism
Do you see the two boxes marked W3C XHTML and W3C CSS over to the right underneath the ads? Go ahead and click on one. We'll wait for you to come back... ... ... Back? Good. You should have seen something to the effect of "This Page is Valid XHTML". Next try clicking back on them and then type in a page such as another major team website provider, or even your favorite university's athletics site. More times than not, the page will not be valid. You can learn more at the W3C website. The W3C is one of the major groups that sets web page standards. Would you trust a house that was built without using correct building codes? You should expect your website to be designed to the highest standards, and that's what we strive for at ialax.
Why should I pick ialax?
By choosing ialax, you will be keeping your business within the lacrosse community as well as receiving an excellent, feature-packed site for a low price. ialax was started by Will Oakley, a fan of the game who played collegiate club ball at Georgia Tech. After playing, Oakley coached the women's team at Tech for two years, and he currently plays post collegiate club ball. He has been playing lacrosse for 13+ years and has been designing websites for about half that. Oakley earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science while at Georgia Tech.
